In the BIOS settings change the boot order so the OS's hard drive is first. I'm just shooting in the dark here. 1 person found this reply helpful The Mitsubishi LS-120 flexible disk drive may be configured as a bootable drive provided that both the operating system and motherboard support it as a bootable device. BIOS versions that support LS-120 booting are: Phoenix from v6.0 AMI from v6.26 LS120 (LS-Drive) HDD-0 (hard disc 1) This setting is used for booting, if the first boot device is not available. There is usually several places to disable A drive, in the first setup screen set A & B to none then look in the bios for FDC (floppy disk controller) and disable it. Also get the LS120 of the same Just to elaborate what I mean by it not being an option in the bios, I have the Gigabyte H55M-UD2H motherboard and the only boot devices that are displayed in the bios are Floppy, LS120, Hard Disk The SuperDisk LS-120 is a high-speed, high-capacity alternative to the 90 mm, 1.44 MB floppy disk. The SuperDisk hardware was created by 3M's storage products group Imation in 1997, with manufacturing chiefly by Matsushita. The SuperDisk had little success in North America; with Compaq, Gateway and Dell being three of only a few OEMs who supported it. It was more successful in Asia and Australia, where the second-generation SuperDisk LS-240 drive and disk was released.

After that I can see ST2000DM001-1ER164 ATA Device in Hardware Profile. However, I do not see the drive neither here, nor in My Computer. Most important, boot time now takes about 2-3 minutes instead of 40-50 seconds. Please advise me on how to make LS-120 drive work properly and without slowing boot time. Why all this is happening?

How to fix No boot device I recently bought an LS120 "floptical" drive. It installed okay, although I at first I didn't know whether or not the deivce would be treated in the BIOS as a "Floppy A:", or just another IDE device. It looks like LS120 disks cost more than zip 100 disks and about as simply because you can boot off of I'll soon be getting a SCSI version so I don't have anymore IDE devices.
